About Swinburne
Established in 1908, Swinburne University is a government institution delivering a wide range of tertiary programs. Swinburne welcomes international students, with currently over 3,000 international students coming from a broad range of regions such as South East Asia, Europe, Africa, South America and The Middle East.
Locations
Swinburne operates out of six campuses in Melbourne’s South Eastern suburbs.
Hawthorn, Healesville, Prahran, Wantirna, Croydon and Lilydale. Campuses range in distance from 7km-40km from Melbourne’s Central Business District. All campuses are easily accessible by public transport.
Swinburne also has two international campuses: Swinburne Tummasiri, Thailand and Swinburne Sarawak Institute of Technology, Malaysia.

The intersectoral advantage
Swinburne has two teaching sectors Technical and Further Education (TAFE) and Higher Education. Being an intersectoral university Swinburne is able to offer programs from diplomas through to degrees and postgraduate research programs.
Research
Swinburne has a number of world-renown research centres which include; The Brains Sciences Institute, Industrial Research Institute (IRIS) and The Institute for Social Research.
Student support services
There are many support services available to international students at Swinburne. All services are offered free of charge and can be easily accessed by contacting the International Student Unit (ISU). Support services include; financial advice, health service, religious support, accommodation assistance, Maths and English support and Counselling.
